Dear Choral Society,
Our 2014-2015 season begins in about 4 weeks, with our first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 9 at 7:00 PM. Music distribution from 6:30 PM.
I know that a few of you are still not certain about participation - do let me know your plans as soon as possible if you're in that category.
We have a NEW REHEARSAL TIME this year: 7:00-9:20 PM. The new 7:00-9:20 PM frame will allow us to restore a midway break.
December Concert Dates and Repertoire:
Friday, December 5 at 8:00 PM
Saturday, December 6 at 3:00 PM
(dress rehearsal Thursday evening, December 4)
Joseph Haydn: Missa Sancti Bernardi von Offida ("Heiligmesse")
with seasonal works and audience carol sing
Did I mention the new (7:00 PM) start time for rehearsals?
Dues: Still $100. Watch this space for a payment link later on in the month.
Study materials for the Haydn:
- iTunes search: "haydn offida marriner" - I'd just buy the whole album for $9.99, which includes the Nelson Mass and others. Our work is Mass No. 9 in B-flat.
- Note-plunking tracks: www.cyberbass.org (go to "Major Works," composer Haydn, and then find the Heiligemesse)
- On line PDF: http://www1.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Heiligmesse_(Mass_no._10_in_Bb_Major)_(Joseph_Haydn)
The on line PDF is NOT the edition we will be using (Carus-Verlag) but should be sufficient for advance preparation. You will get your score at the first rehearsal.
Please learn your part to the Haydn before our first rehearsal on September 9 using the study materials above.

I miss you all and can't wait to make music together again!
Enjoy the rest of your summer and have fun learning the Haydn!
