In place of live concerts this season, we are offering a series of on line broadcasts of some of our favorite performances in recent years, with introductory background and commentary from our Music Director.
This weekend, we feature Haydn’s sprightly Te Deum in C, the later of his two settings of this joyous text. Composed in 1799, this compact little work shows Haydn at the height of his powers.
Joseph Haydn (1732-1809)
Te Deum in C (Hob. XXIIIc:2) (1799)

Next weekend, we bring you the glories of Haydn’s Harmoniemesse (1802), the last of his major works, and a beautiful expression of his originality and humanity.
